Not only is the Brangelina tribe settled for now in the South of France but Indiana Jones is going to have its « world exclusive premiere » at the Cannes festival with "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". Meanwhile, the prestigious Musée du Quai Branly in Paris is presenting one of the few existing crystal skulls to celebrate the event (from May 20th til Sept 7th).
The movie might be an entertainment park ride kind of deal … but in case you wonder about the skull, you may pay a visit to the museum and find out more about it : it is probably of Aztec origin and represents Mictlantecuhtli or Mictlancíhuatl who belongs to Mictlan, the kingdom of the dead. There should be 13 authentic skulls in existence (let’s forget about the tsunami of fake made in China skulls which are going to flood and pollute the planet and the bedrooms of our children post-movie release). A few of the real skulls have been legally stolen by museums : the Paris one (Museum of quai Branly), the London one (British Museum), the Smithsonian Institution one (also the biggest since it’s in America !) and nine other skulls belonging to individuals : the destiny, Sha-Na-Ra, Max, Mayan, so called E.T (source of Spielbert inspiration ?) , amethyst, reliquary cross and crystal rose ones. According to a legend, if you align the 13 skulls (there is a 13th skull that is supposed to represent the earth) on the last day of the mayan calendar - december 21, 2012 – it will keep the earth from tipping over. I thought it had already happened but never mind, the worst is yet to come !

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull est la quatrième édition de la série à succès. En attendant, le prestigieux Musée du Quai Branly présente pour l’occasion un des rares crânes de cristal existants (du 20 Mai au 7 Septembre).
En consultant ma propre boule de cristal, j’ai vu que le dernier Indiana Jones avait tout des montagnes russes couplées avec le train fantôme des parcs d’attraction… mais si vous vous souciez vraiment du crâne lui-même allez au musée : le fameux crane serait d’origine Aztèque et représenterait Mictlantecuhtli ou Mictlancíhuatl qui appartiennent à Mictlan, le royaume des morts. Il y aurait 13 crânes en circulation (on oublie les millions de répliques made in China qui vont venir polluer la planète et les chambres d’enfants pendant quelque temps). Certains de ces crânes ont été légalement volés par les musées : celui dit de Paris (actuellement au Musée du Quai Branly), celui de Londres (British Museum), celui du Smithsonian Institution (aussi le plus gros : normal, il est en Amérique !) et neuf autres crânes appartenant à des collectionneurs : celui du destin, le Sha-Na-Ra, Max, Maya, celui baptisé E.T (peut être celui qui a servi d’inspiration à Spielberg ?) , celui d’améthyste, celui de la croix reliquaire et celui de cristal rose. Selon la légende, si l’on aligne les 13 crânes (le 13ième est sensé représenter la terre) au dernier jour du calendrier Maya, c'est-à-dire le 21 décembre 2012 , cela empêchera la terre de basculer. Je pensais que c’était déjà arrivé mais apparemment il faut s’attendre à pire !
