THE HURT LOCKER ****

The Hurt Locker is a great and intelligent film by Kathryn Bigelow and even though it is about soldiers on duty in the Irak war it is not about the war. The film focuses on its main character, Staff Sgt. James -amazing Jeremy Renner en route for an Oscar or I'll eat my shoes- a bomb specialist working in a bomb squad. Danger, adrenalin, scars emotional and skin deep, wounds, blood, fear, death, nothing really new under the war-sun but the same way Apocalypse Now left you with a feeling that the world had forever gone wrong, The Hurt Locker leaves you with the feeling that anyone who had to play a role in this nightmare (no matter what side, civil or army) will be stuck in this hell forever. There is no way out. The “Hurt locker” whatever it is, is the place inside every human being who has lived through this war and it is a hell of a place that neither Bush, nor Cheney nor any other war criminal will ever know. People of the Hurt Locker might be living in hell but there is still hope and humanity in it. All things considered, it is is a better place than the one the war criminals have to live in....

The Hurt Locker est un film formidable et intelligent par Kathryn Bigelow et même si la guerre en Irak est au centre du film, ce n'est pas le sujet principal du film. Le sujet principal du film est Staff Sgt. James -remarquable Jeremy Renner en route pour un oscar ou je mange mes chaussures-un spécialiste en explosifs qui travaille dans une équipe de déminage. Danger, adrénaline, cicatrices, émotionnelles et à fleur de peau, sang, peur, rien du nouveau sous le soleil de la guerre, mais de la même façon que Apocalypse Now pouvait laisser le spectateur avec un sentiment que le monde ne serait plus jamais le même après CA, The Hurt Locker vous laisse avec le sentiment qui quiconque ayant joué un rôle dans cette guerre (civil ou militaire) sera à jamais coincé dans cet enfer pour toujours. Il n'y a pas de porte de sortie. Le “Hurt locker” quelqu''il soit, est cet endroit à l'intérieur de chaque être humain qui a vécu cette guerre et oui, il s'agit bien d'un enfer mais dans cet enfer, il y a de l'humanité et même, étrangement, de l'espoir. Un endroit dont les Bush, Cheney et autres criminels de guerre de ce monde n'ont aucune idée. L'enfer du Hurt Locker est un enfer bien plus vivable que le le leur en fait et c'est une piètre consolation mais une consolation quand même !
