The Worst possible Illusion



This is a documentary about the brazilian/american artist Vik Muniz and it is extremely entertaining. In one of my favorite scenes Vik Muniz says:
"I think art started the moment man could see something in something else. When probably an early man looking for something to eat threw a spear at a bison, just to find out it was not a bison, it was a termite mount. He looked at it, went back to his tribe and said "there is a bison there" and all the people came out and started throwing spears at the termite mount and he was crouching behind the bushes laughing. That man was the first artist!"

Très intéressant documentaire sur l'artiste brésilien/américain Vik Muniz. Dans une de mes scènes préférées, Vik Muniz raconte:
"Je crois que l'art est né le jour ou un homme a réussi à voir quelque chose dans quelque chose d'autre. Probablement le jour où il a lancé des flèches sur un bison pour s'apercevoir que ce n'etait pas un bison mais une termitière. Il a regardé et puis il est revenu dans sa tribu et il a dit "il y a un bison là-bas!" et toute la tribu est partie lancer des flèches sur la termitière et lui, il était caché derrière les buissons en train de se marrer. Cet homme là était le tout premier artiste!"
