TELL NO ONE / NE LE DIS A PERSONNE *****

Tell no one has enough twists and turns to give you staggers... or vertigo since it’s pretty much structured as an Hitchcock movie. What makes this mystery special are the supporting roles and there are many of them, there are a thousand possible stories that might be developed in this film : the story of Bruno, the hero’s bad guy friend is one, the story of Helen, the lesbian sister in law, the story of Nina the dog, the story of the kid in the stables, the story of the African patient in the hospital, the one about the looser lawyer and the brilliant one, the many cops good and bad, to name a few. It is rare to see a movie where supporting roles are more than tapestry to make the leading actors look good. Guillaume Canet, the director is an actor who has recently turned to directing which might explain why every actor playing a part in this complex story is as important as any piece on the chessboard. Tell no one is an adaptation of a novel by the American writer, Harlan Coben (behind Kristin Scott-Thomas and François Cluzet on the photo).

Ne le dis à personne a tellement de bondissements et rebondissements que le film vous donne vaguement le tourni. Un policier à la Hitchcock où les rôles secondaires sont au premier plan et tellement nombreux que chacun d’entre eux mériterait presque un film à lui tout seul : l’histoire de Bruno le gentil malfrat, d’Hélène la belle soeur lesbienne du héros, les flics bons ou mauvais, Nina le chien, les patients de l’hôpital autant de seconds rôles aussi brillants les uns que les autres et essentiels au film. Guillaume Canet, le réalisateur est avant tout un acteur, c’est peut-être pour cela qu’il sait si bien éviter de laisser ses acteurs faire tapisserie mais plutôt de les mettre en valeur même s’ils n’ont que quelques minutes à l’écran. Ne le dis à personne est une adaptation du roman américain de Harlan Coben (derrière Kristin Scott-Thomas et François Cluzet sur la photo).
