Still waiting for a film worth reviewing for better or for worse... Meanwhile, there is still India Song interpreted by Jeanne Moreau. If you can find the film somewhere... it is lovely. Better than the Truck with Gerard Depardieu anyway ! It is a film by Marguerite Duras, one I love to hate and sometimes hate to love.

J'attends toujours le Godot de film qui me fera écrire une critique, bonne ou mauvaise. Alors en attendant, voilà India Song, interprêtée par Jeanne Moreau et si vous pouvez trouver le film quelque part, il vaut la peine. Bien mieux que le Camion avec Gérard Depardieu en tous les cas. C'est un film de Marguerite Duras que j'aime un peu beaucoup passionnément, à la folie et pas du tout.

And for dessert... a little jewel : Duras vs Godard ? Ego warning... your computer could inflate and explode in your face !!!

painful soundtrack LA DOUBLE VIE DE VERONIQUE

From the very mysterious Double life of Veronica, a film by Krzysztof Kieslowski with Irène Jacob who was also in Red. The music, as in many of Kieslowski films is composed by Zbigniew Preisner although it is attributed to a ficticious Dutch musician called Van Den Budenmayer.

Extrait du très mystérieux La Double vie de Véronique un film de Krzysztof Kieslowski avec Irène Jacob qui a aussi joué dans Rouge. La musique, comme dans beaucoup de films de Kieslowski est composée par Zbigniew Preisner même si dans le film, elle est attribuée à un musicien Hollandais du nom de Van Den Budenmayer sorti tout droit de l'imagination du réalisateur.

With pretty gruesome drawings by the french artist Roland Topor the opening of the film Viva La Muerte with the song Ekkoleg by Grethe Agatz from the album Kom Og and I am pretty sure it is a danish children's song but I might be wrong... I'd love to know what Ekkoleg means if anything.

Avec des dessins terrifiants de l'artiste francais Roland Topor, la séquence d'ouverture du film Viva La Muerte avec la chanson Ekkoleg par Grethe Agatz tirée de l'album Kom Og. Je voudrais bien savoir si Ekkoleg signifie quelque chose ou pas et dans quelle langue?

This is the beginning of a 80 minutes film made with excerpts of more than 80 films from the Warner Bros Studios catalogue and dubbed by the best voice-over french talents for John Wayne, Orson Welles, Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman, James Stewart, Dean Martin... Pasted together and more than losely based on Citizen Kane it is insane, nonsensical and stupid but very creative (and sometimes funny). The 2 authors have never been sued by Warner's legal team who might need the help of translators to find out the horrors that the poor movie legends totally lost in translation are saying on screen. I apologize to the non french speakers but I won't provide subtitles... Let me just say that the contents are bang out of line. Among the many bad jokes, this one:
"It's a riddle : who has 3 arms, 1 hat, 2 shirts, 1 vest, 1 scarf, 1 gun and 4 ears?
Answer: the cowboy from Tchernobyl" !!!"
And there is much much worse than that. Knock yourself out !!!! (assuming you speak French).

Ce film est un collage fait de quelques 80 séquences de films américains doublés (très bien doublés même) avec N'IMPORTE QUOI ! Résultat inégal mais parfois drôle. Des mauvaises blagues à la pelle, des åneries sans fin et des devinettes du genre:
"qu'est ce qui a 3 bras, 1 seul chapeau, 2 chemises, 1 veste, 1 foulard, 1 pistolet et 4 oreilles? Réponse: le cowboy de Tchernobyl.:" Eh oui c'est nul mais regardez les extraits sur dailymotion.fr ou allez voir le film a Beaubourg, ca semble quand même unique dans son genre.
