David Bailey and poor Valerie

I was watching this amazing documentary about David Bailey on Sundance called "Four beats to the bar and no cheating". David Bailey was the inspiration for Antonioni's "Blow up" main character. But back to the point or more precisely to the captions, look at the screenshot above. It says
"It's like that Valerie, poor Valerie thing about..." and the next caption would be
"the essence of the idea".
David Bailey looks definitely stunned by his friend's statement. I mean, poor Valerie was really quite a thinker but who was she really? A model, a muse, a swinging sixties kind of diva from the East-end?
Maybe the captioner didn't know about Paul Valery, maybe he didn't have time to check, whatever it is, it is a nice little nonsensical caption and I like it.

Je regardais ce remarquable documentaire sur le photographe David Bailey sur Sundance appelé "Four beats to the bar and no cheating". David Bailey a inspiré Antonioni pour le personnage du photographe interprêté par David Hemmings dans Blow Up. Tout à coup, j'ai vu apparaitre ce sous-titre à l'image (voir photo ci-dessus). "C'est comme cette Valerie, pauvre Valerie cette chose à propos de..." et la suite disait "l'essence d'une idée". David Bailey semble en rester comme deux ronds de flans et c'est bien normal parce que le sous-titreur s'est planté dans son solo et il voulait écrire Paul Valery pas pauvre Valerie. Mais tout cela n'est pas grave, ca fait une jolie photo qui sort de l'or diner.
